Wastelander Costume

Inspired by the “rock riders” from Mad Max: Fury Road. With a mix of auto parts, bike tires, and other treasures from neighbor’s garages, you might need a tetanus shot to get close!

Four-Stilted “Forest Creature” Costume 3.0

2023: Forest Creature Haunts The Farmer’s Market!

It’s that time of year again… The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and I’m throwing my spine out chasing the townsfolk around in my 4-stilted “forest creature” costume — and it’s all worth it for the reactions it inspires in the people I encounter along the way.

2022: Forest Creature Haunts The Bay Area!

After the overwhelming success of last year’s award-winning costume, I knew the fun couldn’t stop there! In 2022, I took everything I learned (the hard way) about mobility, ergonomics, and structure to bring you my Four-Stilted Forest Creature 3.0.

Learn what worked and what didn’t, and what I have planned for the Next Big Thing!

2021: How I Built My 4-Stilted Costume!

After 2 years of tinkering with my original 4-stilt costume, I decided it was time to take it all apart and rebuild it from the foam up — complete with a fully articulated skull with bite force! Presenting my forest creature costume 2.0, and everything that went into creating it over these last 6 months.

2021: Forest Creature Haunts National TV!

When I first took on this project in May 2021, I never imagined it would get the kind of attention it did by Halloween. It is so gratifying to have all my time and effort pay off (literally!) after winning the grand prize on Live with Kelly and Ryan, and all the opportunities for appearances that followed.

2020: Forest Creature Haunts San Carlos!

One year after its construction, the forest creature once again makes its way to the streets for Halloween. You may have seen it on Laurel Street in San Carlos. Every aspect of the design was hand-cut, dyed, and stitched entirely from scratch – and it couldn’t have been done without help from my grandma!

2019: Forest Creature Haunts Reno!

After only 8 years of contemplating, 3 months of work, $426.87, and 4 stilts later, my most elaborate Halloween costume to date has finally come to life. Every aspect of the design was hand-cut, dyed, and stitched entirely from scratch – and it couldn’t have been done without help from my grandma, friends, and complete strangers in the construction, filming, and transport of the whole production.
